Mount Hagen International airport, which is also referred to as Kagamuga Airport, is located in the Western Highlands Province and serves the city of Mount Hagen. The airport is the second largest airport in Papua New Guinea. A brand new terminal building opened in 2015 with an approximate cost of $23 million. The terminal building contains a number of facilities for passengers including a varied range of shops and restaurants. Mount Hagen Airport has two runways, with the longer of the two being used predominantly.
